Dr. Arumugam’s journey commenced as far back as 1981, marking the beginning of a twelve-year tenure at Seshasayee Paper and Boards Limited. In various capacities, from Assistant Manager to Assistant General Manager Technical Services, he orchestrated performance improvement projects, capital projects, and spearheaded ISO 9001, ISO 14011, OSHAS and World Class Manufacturing program coordination. This early experience laid the foundation for his enduring commitment to excellence.
Venturing into international territories, Dr. Arumugam served as a Project Engineer at Riau Andalan Pulp & Paper (An APRIL GROUP company) in Indonesia from 1996 to 1998 for their mega expansion project.

Leadership at Tata Consulting Engineers

The pinnacle of his corporate journey unfolded at Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd, where he ascended to the role of Senior General Manager – Project Management. He excelled in project management, program management, and played a pivotal role in project control and procurement.
From 2007 to 2015, he assumed the mantle of Project Manager for esteemed clients such as Hindustan Paper Corporation, UPM Kymmnee, Owens Corning, Dangote, TN Petrochemicals, Hindustan Newsprint Ltd, Nepa Paper Ltd, and Nuclear Power Corporation of India. His role in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management showcased his ability to navigate complex projects with finesse.

His academic journey mirrors the depth of his professional experience after his graduation in Mechanical Engineering at CIT under then Madras University in 1980. Armed with a Master of Science in Applied Operations Research and Energy Management from the prestigious Indian Institute of Science, His academic foundation laid the groundwork for a career marked by analytical acumen and strategic thinking. This commitment to academic excellence continued with a Master of Philosophy in Entrepreneurship from Madurai Kamaraj University and Doctorate in Sustainability Studies from Bharathiar University, solidifying his expertise in corporate sustainability.
The pursuit of knowledge did not end there. His quest for continuous learning led to the completion of a Professional Diploma in Business Analytics from the All India Management Association (AIMA) in 2021, showcasing [his/her] adaptability in an ever-evolving technological landscape.
